We are a strength and conditioning facility in west Nashville, TN bringing fitness, health, and authentic community to people of all ages and ability levels.


CrossFit Breakthrough’s mission is in the name. We are here to identify and conquer any obstacle or hindrance preventing an individual from reaching their maximum potential - in fitness, and in life. Building a healthy, functional, strong body is crucial to happiness and longevity, but we believe our community is here to do more than just improve physical well-being.

This gym is intended to be a force for good, inside and outside the walls - for members, and for the city. CrossFit Breakthrough is a place of inclusivity, encouragement, and improvement. Community is the key; we are better and go further together.

Physical plateaus, life struggles, whatever the issue - wherever or whoever you are - we want to offer what we can to help you reach the next level. We believe here you’ll find fitness, authentic relationships, and fun.

Our Past

Since 2012, 5402 Charlotte Avenue has served up fitness to the West Nashville area. In the fall of 2017, longtime member and coach, Nick Freije, became owner and operator, seeking to build upon the strong foundation and community previously known as CrossFit Barefoot. Early in 2018, CrossFit Breakthrough was born.

Class Descriptions

Workout of the Day (WOD) Each class is one hour long and led by a certified CrossFit instructor. If you’re dropping in or you’ve CrossFitted before, we’d love to have you! If you’re new to CrossFit, we offer 2 weeks of free, introductory sessions! Contact us to get started!
Open Gym Each open gym block is one hour long, overseen and assisted by a certified instructor. It’s a chance to make up a missed WOD, work on new skills, or do accessory work
Olympic Weightlifting A class focused on improving and refining the Olympic lifts; Snatch and Clean + Jerk.
Personal Training These one-on-one sessions are perfect if you are seeking a more individualized approach to help you reach your fitness goals. Contact us to learn more!

Drop-In Experienced CrossFitters that are members at another affiliate $20 daily / or buy a shirt

We also offer special discounts for Students (must present school ID), Families/Couples (when registered together), as well as, Fire, EMT, Police, Teachers, Nurses, and Active Military personnel.

Workout of the Day (WOD)

All of our workouts are posted using Beyond The White Board. Members can view upcoming or past workouts by accessing BTWB included as part of their membership. If you're a new member, contact one of our coaches to get setup!
